Hello and Welcome. We are very excited you joined the organization and want to contribute to the game. Our goal is to create a culture where we as referee's give to the game, much in the manner the game has given to us.
Your first steps:
PARENTS: PLEASE ATTEND THE REFEREE 101 CLINIC for your zone with your referee. This will cover: availability, Arbiter scheduling, appearance/uniforms, equipment needs, tournaments and leagues.

The RRU mentor program is a pilot program designed to improve referee retention by allowing our newest referees to learn from more experienced referees which we hope will provide them with the confidence to stand on their own after they leave the program.
Effective mentors have greater amounts of experience but also possess the ability to offer constructive critique so that the protege is able to learn. Not every experienced referee fits this category, as a result it is unfair to ask these select people to referee “below” their usual level without compensating them fairly.
To that end, we have devised a compensation plan for mentors. The object is to increase fees closer to the level they would have made if they had taken a “regular” assignment on a given night. (Tournaments are different as the RRU does not have a budget to support the full payment of mentors at every tournament, so instead there will be a smaller stipend paid to compensate the mentor for their time in submitting paperwork.)
COMPENSATION POLICY
RDYSL U12/U13 = Standard Match Fee + $10 mentor stipend
U12 = $35 fee + $10 stipend = $45
U13 = $40 fee + $10 stipend = $50
In order to qualify for the stipend, the following steps must be completed. YOU WILL BE DENIED PAYMENT if you do not complete these steps.
Once all these steps are completed, you will qualify for your stipend.
Stipend payments will be issued by the RRU at the end of the season, so you will receive a single lump sum payment.
Tournaments
In tournaments you will not be asked to provide the referee with written feedback, and your verbal feedback can be shortened where less time is available between games.
For each tournament where you are assigned as a mentor by the RRU / Zone Coordinator, you will be entitled to a single $10 stipend per day, regardless of how many games you mentored. You will be keeping the full match fee for any games you mentor. The $10 stipend is intended to compensate you for your time submitting the online feedback form.
In order to qualify for this stipend, you must complete the feedback forms for ALL games you mentored on a given day.
Deadline
Stipend payment is forfeited if the online feedback forms are not completed within 15 days of the mentoring assignment.
